New stylish solutions for the 2016 design bathroom

Interior Design  /  October 7, 2016

The 2016 interior design bathroom takes inspiration from different kind of styles and looks for your natural well-being. For this purpose, it features natural materials, innovative texture, colour palette conveying serenity and relaxation.

SHABBY CHIC

Also this year design brands propose romantic features and shabby chic solutions with elegant soul, light and brilliant tones. In the foreground are the white notes with all their shades, from the optical to the antique. Then we find the pink and also some gold notes on paintings and decorative panels hanging on the walls.

The style boasts colourful lines with light and brilliant notes, pastel colours, bright fittings in antan gold and silver colour (a retro appearance), free standing bath tubs, prudently displayed feet contrasting with the floor (recalling a typical aged bathroom).

ORIENTAL INSPIRATIONS IN PERFECT ZEN STYLE

We all increasingly need to turn our bathroom into almost a personal SPA to improve our relaxing and meditative experience. Japanese style perfectly suits this need and every kind of living context. Minimalism, essential volumes in white colour and natural wooden notes, add a fascinating exotic touch to any room. The bath tubs, oval or rectangular, in white and grey colours, directly face the garden through large windows with views of vegetation and water. The washbasin increasingly plays an important role in the bathroom and is designed as a rock cavity, with copper fittings of great visual impact.

MODERN STYLE

The washbasin is the main focus in the 2016 modern style bathrooms and takes round and ergonomic shapes, perfectly suiting an elegant and high design space. Different materials combine with various styles, creating a wide range of solutions. Lights and colours, antique and innovative materials alternate creative and original effects without forgetting their functional use. Among the material adopted, ceramics create a mosaic effect and feature neutral colours such as ivory, white and beige but also darker tones like night-blue. Interiors alternate contrasting colours like black and white, and decorated walls use the light to amplify the material shadings.

VINTAGE WITH PASTEL TONES

The 2016 trendy design bathroom features a retro style, revisiting Pantone colours, pink quartz and serenity light blue in classical style. Wahsbasins and columns seem to feature a capitonnè style, the typical quilted padding effect. Bath tubs are free-standing with metal cladding feet and lamps increasingly look like traditional lanterns.

INDUSTRIAL CHIC

Unusual features focus on minimalist lines, prominent grey and brown colours with all their shades. The so called “poor” materials are used in an accurate way. Concrete and bars come to life in this style and are used for furniture and pavements.

With regard to the colurful palette, in addition to white, don’t forget the range of brown such as chestnut, but also petrol green.  Bronze and gold are also perfect to be combined with white, adding a romantic touch to the space.

English tires come to a new life and are used like a decorative element for bath tubs or walls, creating, with freezes and frills, the typical atmosphere of an antique factory.

All this because the style is industrial but chic at the same time.

MASTELLA

Mastella organised a seminar on colour, the main element that characterises a design trend. It was called “MASTELLA & Farbe”, held on the occasion of the System to win Beratung GmbH network, on  6 June  2016.

The expert designer Hildegard Kalthegener introduced the concept of colour and showed its importance in terms of business strategy. She focused the attention on the different chromatic effects that colour produces when filtered by the light.

In addition, the designer Kalthegener thinks that a colour must be related to a living context in order to have a stronger impact on human mind (for example, blue sky, ruby red, ivory white, cement grey…)

As a result of the knowledge acquired from the course, some individuals or groups workshops have been organised.
