“Design is a state of its own. And Milan is its capital”

 

Here is the pay off that the organizers of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (International Furniture Exhibition) in Milan have chosen to present a 56th edition that promises wonders. A compelling slogan that focuses not only on the Rho exposition, but on the entire city, which has been elected design capital of the world.
From 4-9 April, more than 300,000 visitors from 167 countries are expected in Milan, who will pack the Rho pavilions and attend the numerous events of the Fuorisalone (OutsideExhibition), the parallel event involving the city that has been divided for the occasion into “design districts”.

A mix of business and culture that has always partnered quality and technology, the result of continuous innovation and creativity expressed by the best companies in an industry, one dedicated to living, which is going through a time of great vitality, as evidenced by the good performance of Made in Italy, especially with regard to exports which are growing continually.

They will be 5 events taking place simultaneously in the Fiera Milano Rho pavilions:

• The International Furniture Exhibition is divided into the three stylistic types: Classic, Design and xLux (section dedicated to luxury) with 2,000 exhibitors in an approximately 200,000 sq.m. exhibition area
• The International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition: for decorating enthusiasts, lovers of fabrics and novelties for the home: 200 exhibitors in 10,000 square meters

The biennalis:

• Euroluce, which develops around the themes of LED technology, home automation, Eco-sustainability and energy conservation;
• Workplace3.0 which examines the issue of new spaces for the office of the future, focusing on co-working and well-being.

Within the Workplace3.0 pavilions the exhibition/event “A Joyful Sense at Work” will be held, curated by architect Cristiana Cutrona, on the theme of the evolution of the office of the future, through four installations designed by as many architectural firms.

Satellite Exhibition: this year marks the 20th anniversary of the show dedicated to the new talents in design, created and curated by Marva Griffin. In 20 years, over 10,000 designers under 35 and 270 international design schools have been featured at the Satellite Exhibition. Apart from the exhibition at the Fiera, the show “Satellite Exhibition. 20 years of new creativity” will be going on, curated by Beppe Finessi at the Fabbrica del Vapore (Steam Factory), bringing together the best of the products presented at the Exhibition as prototypes and that later went into production.Of note is the projection/event DeLightFuL, (Design, Light, Future, Living), a short film by director Matteo Garrone, which will be previewed at the Exhibition, and the “Space & Interiors” show at The Mall Porta Nuova (Brera Design District), dedicated to coatings.

As for bathroom furnishings, we have to wait till 2018 for the International Bathroom Exhibition. The event was born within the International Furniture Exhibition, and now has developed as an event in itself, given the importance that the sector has gained in recent years, with a growth rate of nearly 35% and the public’s interest constantly increasing.

There will be plenty of opportunities to admire new proposals from companies in the sector, thanks to the many FuoriSalone events.

Even Mastella will participate with an event scheduled for Wednesday, 5 April at the Newform permanent showroom, in the heart of the Brera Design District in via Fiori Oscuri 3 from 17:00 to 22:00.

 

The event this year once again proves the strong and close-knit collaboration between Mastella and Newform through the exhibition of the two companies’ products with a completely new vision that combines well-being, design and technology.
