Cersaie, the International Salon of Ceramics for Architecture and Bathroom design returns to Bologna this year. The date of this event, now in its 34th edition, took place over five days at the end of September, from Monday 26 September to Friday 20 September 2016.
Meeting point for Italian and International exhibitors, Cersaie is a must for professionals in the field who meet in Bologna to display their own collections and to keep up to date on the latest trends in interior design, with a particular eye on ceramics and bathroom design.
Building: trendy materials and accessories
The entire 156, 000 square-metre space hosted the industry’s leading companies, who displayed their products over several different pavilions. The focus was on floors and coverings in ceramics, with a dedicated space for non-ceramic materials like marble, wood and stone.
With regard to bathroom design, the latest in accessories, furniture and fixtures were presented with a section dedicated to construction materials and equipment.
The various sectors were subdivided according to different themes, among them the Installation City which hosted a workshop guided by expert installers who made their skills available with technical demonstrations of installations.
Living: plan your interiors with the help of architects
Cersaie is not only an exhibition, but also a coming together of events and innovative solutions to satisfy everybody, both professionals and amateurs. Besides being a source of inspiration for specialist visitors, it offers free services for anyone who wants to undertake a restoration or restyling project.
Among the numerous initiatives there is an area dedicated to design consultancy: with Design your house, visitors can put their trust and their project in the hands of experts, to find together the best solution. All that is needed is a blueprint or a sketch with measurements and details of the environment that is to be designed.
Thinking: Face to face with the world of architecture
Next to these areas there is the Press Cafè, a place dedicated to conversations about the current themes in the world of architecture, open to all visitors.
The Gallery of Architecture, like every year, hosts a series of conventions and seminars, useful for achieving training credits. Among the seminar hosts this year there are a number of important international names, including the multi-award winning architect and designer Norman Foster, winner of the Pritzker Prize 1999, who will deliver a lecture entitled “10 on 10: Ten Fosters and Ten others” on the morning of 27 September. The following day will feature Manuel Aires Mateus the Portuguese professor and architect, founder of a studio in Lisbon with his brother and Solano Benitez, architect and lecturer from Paraguay, winner of the Gold Lion at the 15th Architecture Biennale of Venice for his project “Gabinete de Arquitectura”.
The event is promoted by Ceramics Confindustria and organised by Edi.Cer. spa in collaboration with BolognaFiere. The entry is free but registration on the official website is required to get tickets.

With the help of important co-marketing collaborations we presented some pieces of new bathroom design, in elegant and detailed environments, designed by our business partners, who were in BolognaFiere.
We reproduced the design of RAGNO and GRUPPO MARAZZI under the supervision and care of the stylist Marta Meda. The peculiarity of our partnership is the continuity and the fact that we display our products not only in Cersaie. We are also in Sassuolo and Milan Showroom with some pieces of our collection.
We established a partnership also with Ceramiche Settecento and Ceramiche Herberia for the exhibition in the fair. It was curated in collaboration with the architect Renato Franchini.
A news (rather unexpected) of this year is our recent collaboration with the newly settled company from Emilia-Romagna INKIOSTRO BIANCO, which displayed in Cersaie the new Vov black bath-tub. It was installed in a very elegant and charming environment, became a great success among visitors, and gave us great satisfaction.
